2. The Cozy Choice: 5" x 8" (or 5.25" x 8")
This size feels more personal. It mimics the shape of those mass-market paperbacks you buy at airports, but with better paper quality.
Why choose it? It feels great in the hand. However, be warned: because the pages are smaller, your page count will go up. A 300-page book at 6x9 might become a 380-page book at 5x8. That extra thickness will cost you about $0.50–$1.00 more per copy to print.
How Trim Size Impacts Your Amazon Royalties
Amazon KDP charges printing costs based on page count, not the physical size of the paper (mostly). Let's do some quick math:
